︎ fen root is a multimedia artist whose work stages playful and critical encounters with technologies of representation. they merge elements of performance, sculpture, photography and video to create environmental installations and standalone works that interrogate the social and psychic dynamics of territory, and the mutuality of identity, self, and place.
fen has presented works and performances in solo and group exhibitions including Currents New Media, Harwood’s 6th Street Studio, STOA Center for Body Arts and Studies, The University of New Mexico Art Museum, Chispas Farm, and ABQ INT’L, among others. she is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
